When a new pain develops, we often respond with "Oh, what now?" or "Great, just what I need!" In that moment, we are cursing our body. We see this aching foot, or pain in our side as a "problem to fix", and we go to war with ourselves. Yes, it is causing an issue and yes, you want it remedied, but HOW you view/feel about it makes the difference. If you are hating your foot for hurting, you are hating part of yourself. No healing can come from punishment, of yourself or your foot.
In this moment of awareness, give yourself permission to pause. Take a timeout. Notice the thoughts in your mind, and the feelings in your heart. Are they loving? Or are they punishing? You don't need to punish yourself. You didn't do anything wrong. You are not a bad person. You are hurting and need nurturing. You feel vulnerable and need support. That's really okay! You are good, my dear. In fact, you've always been good! You ARE good, and you DESERVE to be loved... most importantly, by you.
So the next time "something else pops ups", instead of getting angry or frustrated, I want you to do this:
Close your eyes, and place your hand where it hurts. Take a deep breath. Hold this spot and imagine sending love from your heart, down your arm, through your hand into this area. Imagine your love is a glowing golden light that is enveloping this area, releasing the pain. With every exhale, feel your body relaxing more. Think about this pain point with pure, unconditional love. Say "<name pain point>, I love you, thank you for getting my attention, I am here now, I am with you, I love you." Do this for a few minutes.
Then, imagine your adult self putting your hands on the same pain point of a 3-year-old version of yourself. See yourself holding little you. Imagine holding this precious child closely, and whisper softly, "I love you. I love you. I really, really love you. Thank you. I am here. I am with you. I have you. I won't ever leave you. I love you."
Give yourself a few moments to sit in silence and allow the energy to integrate. If tears arise, let them flow. It's just energy moving.
Thank you for loving you. You are SO good, my dear. ❤
